Punk, or Phil Brooks, was submitted in the first round by young welterweight prospect Mickey Gall, and didn’t hesitate to give the 24-year-old some advice on how to market himself in the future.

At UFC 203, CM Punk made his MMA debut, which had been almost two years in the making. Believe it or not, this is the most fun I’ve ever had in my life.

“I don’t know if the fight was an experiment. became friends with him, he’s a nice guy and I’ve a lot of respect for him. It doesn’t matter how many times you fall down, you get back up”. Afterward, a number of MMA fighters reacted on Twitter to Punk taking his first (and probably last) L. Noticeably absent from the list was Conor McGregor, though a TMZ cameraman still found him and asked him his thoughts about Saturday night’s beatdown.

Punk nearly wriggled free, but Gall regained a dominant position and soon Punk had no choice but to tap his hand on the mat, ending the fight the way many inside the sport had predicted. I’m going to hurt you.’ And then he kept staring at me as he walked off. I’m not going to shelve it and leave it in the middle of the street. Do I want that to happen? No.

Mickey Gall and Sage Northcutt made their way to the UFC through company president Dana White’s reality series Lookin’ for a Fight.

“I like to take a challenge and this was hell of a mountain”.

Despite having no background in combat sports, Punk (0-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) was granted an opportunity to have his first MMA fight under the UFC banner. I don’t know. A little bit of nonsense. I think all of us CM Punk fans would like to move on from this and erase this moment from our memories. “I wanted to show that off, but he came in hot so I just changed levels and put him on his back”.

CM Punk’s highly-anticipated MMA debut went the way that many were expecting as the 37-year-old Chicago native signed with the UFC in December 2014 with no previous experience.
