Two Patriots players hold up fists after national anthem

Colin Kaepernick’s anthem protest has gained some followers in the NFL, college football, high school football and even soccer. Dolphins owner Stephen Ross said he supports the message his players are sending.

Across the field, four Miami Dolphins took a knee.

“The NFL’s failure to address this growing issue is a gross disrespect of American values”, AFA President Tim Wildmon said. “I still have some family in the struggle”.

Gotta say w/ what Kaepernick has started and a few other players have joined in on-it has only made me APPRECIATE the anthem that much more.

On Sunday, there were new calls on the field for social justice – most notably at a game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Miami Dolphins, where members of both teams took a stand in different ways.

“They say it’s not the time to do this.but when is the time?” Many of those leading the protests are black and brown students who have grown up with images of young people who look like them being shot and killed by police.

Other teams like the Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs showed their solidarity by standing with their arms locked during the Anthem. And they fight for freedom, they fight for the people, they fight for liberty and justice, for everyone.

“He spoke up about something he felt he needed to speak up about”, Peters said of Kaepernick. “I salute him for that”. Forty-niners coach Chip Kelly announced that the controversial star player would serve as the team’s backup quarterback at that game.

He has said that he will continue to do so until he sees “significant change”.

The raised-fist demonstration echoes the protest by Carlos and his American teammate and gold medalist, Tommie Smith, after they placed in the 200 meters at the 1968 Olympic Games.

Carlos said both the National Football League protests and Black Lives Matter were connected to the struggles against racial injustice in the past, including his raised-fist protest and the civil rights movement of the 1960s.

Photos published online by Sports Illustrated showed Tennessee Titans players Jurrell Casey, Wesley Woodyard and Jason McCourty raising their fists ahead of their game against the Minnesota Vikings as well.

However, people should stop thinking about if it’s right or wrong and address the situation that he is protesting, so that if there is a problem, it can be dealt with, solved, and we can all move on like adults.
