Pneumonia-stricken Hillary Clinton isn’t the only one clearing her throat. “Like a lot of people I though I could keep going forward and power through it, but obviously that didn’t work out so well”.
The health scare revived concerns about a tendency towards secrecy that has dogged the former Secretary of State’s run for the White House, and underscored perennial worries about the medical fitness of candidates for one of the world’s most demanding jobs. Clinton decamped to her daughter Chelsea’s apartment, and later emerged, saying she felt fine.
“I don’t know if anyone truly knows what’s going on except Hillary and her circle of staff”, Josh Hosler of Colorado Springs said. She maintained that she felt dizzy and overheated at the event Sunday and did not lose consciousness.
“I think really only twice that I can recall”.
She waved to reporters and said: “I’m feeling great”.
Hillary Clinton took the day off from campaigning Monday to rest. “You can’t say the same thing about Donald Trump”, she said, arguing that she has been far more transparent than Trump and that her campaign has “already met a high standard of transparency”.
Doctors said at the time she had a blood clot on her brain and temporarily suffered from double vision, before declaring her fully recovered.
In an unusually restrained manner, her rival, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, offered her his wishes for a rapid recovery in his first public comments since Clinton left Sunday’s Ground Zero ceremony. Fallon said though she was diagnosed with pneumonia Friday, she was determined to attend Sunday’s ceremony.
“She is usually a measured speaker, and that line was written for her”, he said.
Pneumonia is apparently dogging the Clinton campaign, as another from her camp, said he and other staffers at headquarters.
“Obviously, I was supposed to rest five days”, she said.
Trump was scheduled to appear on The Dr. Oz Show later this week to talk about his health.
