This is a testament to the all-round quality of Liverpool’s performance under the new Main Stand, with only Lucas’ first-half error tarnishing an otherwise excellent display.

Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri branded Liverpool as “unstoppable” as the Reds thrashed the Premier League champions 4-1 at Anfield.

“When I speak about this, I have to say (to the fans). please don’t sing my name before the game is decided”, Klopp said at the post match press conference.

Liverpool showed a matured perfomance and schooled Leicester City.

“Maybe it’s not for me to say but I think we’ve got to focus on the methods and the way we’ve got our success and we’ve come a long way and sometimes you have to take a step back and reflect”.

“It was the same at Arsenal”.

“It was the same at Arsenal; it’s nice but not necessary”.

“We didn’t really turn up, if you like”.

They are so tuned and apart from one player they played with champions (only Daniel Amartey of the Foxes’ starting line-up was not at the club last season) so everything is clear. “We just take it game by game and will try to win them”.

Lucas, used as a center back by manager Juergen Klopp, inadvertently passed the ball across his own goal to unmarked Leicester striker Jamie Vardy, who put the gift into the open goal.

However, Adam Lallana sealed the win by firing a shot into the top corner and Firmino got a second from Mane’s pass. “That is what I expect from us, what we did today”. We have to clean our mind.

“When we are standing in the tunnel it’s going to be odd listening to the Champions League music but I’m buzzing for it”, he said. “It will be another kind of football but we are ready”, he said. “Still we fought, but Liverpool were the better team”.

“We had to throw him in cold water, he wasn’t really ready for 90 minutes”, he said. Fortunately, we play every three days now; there is a new adventure in the Champions League and we have to recharge the battery, look how Liverpool won – with great spirit – and restore our way.
