The new TT RS uses a five-cylinder 2.5-litre TFSI petrol engine that is 17 per cent more powerful than its predecessor.

Alongside the 60hp power increase torque goes up from 450 to 480Nm, which translates to a 3.7-second 0-62mph time in the Coupe, 3.9sec in the Roadster and a top speed that can be raised from the electronically limited 155mph to 174mph with the optional Dynamic Package Plus. First unveiled at the 2016 Beijing Motor Show, the new Audi TT RS is the most powerful TT ever to enter series production.
While Audi is yet to make an announcement about the new TT RS’ launch in India, we believe the sportscar could arrive here by early next year, if at all.
The vehicle also gets the quattro all-wheel drive system and the Audi Drive Select adaptive dynamics system that offers Comfort, Auto, Dynamic and Individual modes. It too can be modified by the Audi Drive Select.
“Standard alloys are 19″ in silver, matt titanium or gloss black, but you can spend more on 20” with a seven-spoke design, and they can cover option carbon ceramic brakes if you want. Owners keen to play down the performance potential at their disposal can swap this for the automatically extending spoiler familiar from the “mainstream” TT models if required.
There are nine colour choices, including Nardo grey and Catalunya red which are specific to the RS, as well as additional Audi Exclusive options, and can be combined with optional matt aluminium or gloss black styling packages.
Orders for the Audi TT RS open later in the month (September 2016) at Audi’s United Kingdom dealers, with the TT RS Coupe costing from £51,800 and the TT RS Roadster from £53,550.
Inside, the TT RS features sports seats upholstered in Nappa leather, with a special sports steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara and a supercar-inspired integrated start/stop button like the R8.
Highlights of Audi Connect also include Google Earth mapping and Google Street View, as well as online weather updates and travel information.

A first for any Audi, meanwhile, is the Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) rear light option. These advanced new lamps in 3D design comprise four wafer-thin units, the largest of which bears the TT logo and the four Audi rings.
