Dr. Oz won’t ask Trump questions ‘he doesn’t want … answered’

Dr. Mehmet Oz, a surgeon who hosts a daily talk show to discuss viewers’ health and wellness concerns, reportedly told Fox News that he will reveal Donald Trump’s medical records on air later this week-before the Republican presidential candidate sees the report.

Trump’s appearance on the show, announced by the mogul on Monday, comes after Hillary Clinton’s disclosure that she had been suffering from pneumonia. “We’re not going to be talking about Secretary Clinton, for sure”, Oz said.

In preparation for Thursday’s show – which will actually tape Wednesday – Dr. Oz visited with Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade to discuss the upcoming taping.

‘It’s his decision. The metaphor for me is, this is a doctor’s office, the studio. “And so I do think people want to understand, what happens to my health care if Mr. Trump is elected, and more importantly, what kind of role model is he for health in our country”.

But when asked what he thought Trump would do if there were “embarrassing” results, Dr Oz told interviewers, ‘I bet he won’t release them’.

“Ultimately, they’re going to be good”, Trump said Monday. A year earlier, Congress called on Dr. Oz to testify at a Senate hearing over weight loss-product scams.

Last year, 10 prominent physicians signed a letter – in which Oz was dubbed a “fake and a charlatan” – calling for the TV doc’s dismissal from the prestigious vice chairman post in Columbia University’s department of surgery. Dr. Oz reportedly will reveal the results of the candidate’s recent physical on Thursday’s episode of his show. He also said Trump’s campaign has given him leeway to ask any questions he wants.

“It’s another case of brilliant showmanship for both of them. all sizzle and no steak”.

Ivanka Trump will also join her father on the program, Oz told Kilmeade.

Although the television show is billing the interview as “a no-holds-barred conversation”, Oz offered that some subjects may be off the table.

“His physical strength and stamina are extraordinary”, Dr. Harold Bornstein, Trump’s doctor since 1980, wrote in December.

“My sense is there could be something like that”, Kilmeade added. Clinton and her campaign have been blasted for the delay.

Focus on candidates’ health came to the forefront this week, following Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s near-collapse while leaving the 9/11 memorial ceremony in New York City on Sunday – an incident her campaign attributed to a pneumonia diagnosis.
