#VeteransForKaepernick Emerges In Support Of Colin Kaepernick

The then-sophomore was equally risky with his arm (11-of-16, 176 yards, 2 TDs) as he was with his legs (18 carries, 240 yards, 3 TDs).

Calling it a distraction from the “real issues” of police brutality and killings of people of color in the USA, professional football player Colin Kaepernick on Thursday addressed the controversy surrounding his wearing socks that bore the image of cartoon pigs wearing police hats.

Kaepernick issued a statement on Twitter on Thursday after photos began circulating on social media of him wearing the socks that show a pig dressed in a police hat.

Kaepernick has been refusing to stand during the national anthem this preseason in order to protest “a country that oppresses Black people and people of color”.

All eyes will be on San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick at a Thursday night football game to see if he will sit again during the US national anthem to protest racial injustice in the United States. So that’s something that this country has to change.

However, I don’t think Kaepernick is thinking about what our flag stands for.

“Just to factually conclude the national anthem story, as you heard (sideline reporter) Dennis (O’Donnell) relate, Colin Kaepernick took a knee during the anthem”, play-by-play analyst Ted Robinson said, though Eric Reid reportedly also knelt.

Kaepernick made very clear that his stance had nothing to do with the military when he applauded the veterans who received recognition during the game. Boyer, who had a brief stint with the Seahawks last preseason, was invited by Kaepernick to stand on the 49ers’ sideline during the game. Kaepernick said. “I have two uncles and friends who are police officers and work to protect and serve ALL people”.

“So that’s a large part of it and they’re government officials”.

Kaepernick wasn’t earnestly booed in San Diego until he took the field to start the game for the 49ers, immediately leading them on a 16-play, 85-yard touchdown drive against the hometown team. There’s people being murdered unjustly and not being held accountable. Make those standards higher. “But at the same time, it would be somewhat hypocritical for me to tell him, ‘Now I fought for you, but you can only use this and you can’t say that and you can’t do this and you can’t do that'”.
