At a “surprise” announcement in his mother’s back yard, Ford revealed plans to release the book, “Ford Nation“, through HarperCollins Canada on November 22nd. “And there will be no politician safe in the country from the Prime Minister to the premier to the mayor”.
However, at the recent “Ford Fest” event – the first since his brother’s death – Ford said his supporters were split “50/50” about whether he should run provincially or make a second run at becoming Toronto’s mayor. “He was finally saying ‘Hey, we are going to get our story out there'”.
When his brother started working on the book, he “finally felt like he could tell the truth about issues the media called him out on”, Ford said.
“This is a book that’s going to be calling out people”, he said. “It’s going to rock the media world, it’s going to rock the political world”. “After we do that, stay tuned for the next announcement”, he said.
Ford, who served one term in municipal office and now runs the family printing business, hoped the tell-all story would help set the stage for his eventual foray into Canadian politics.
“I can assure you I will be running politically”, he said.
Doug Ford pitched the book as a kind of scorched-earth effort to the settled the score with journalists and other politicians.
He also said hr would have no problem defeating Justin Trudeau, who he described as a part-time drama teacher, who is not qualified to be prime minister.
