Jurgen Klopp does not want Liverpool fans singing too early

‘But the players mental energy will return much quicker because everyone wants to play in the Champions League in Bruges’.

“It’s not only Leicester; we believe we are capable of beating everybody”.

Adam Lallana scored Liverpool’s third, a thunderbolt from close range that gave Kasper Schmeichel no chance in the Leicester goal.

None more so than Sadio Mane, who has two goals already and has probably impressed more than any player in the Premier League so far this term.

“They played so well, ” Ranieri said.

“They were a little bit better than us”, Schmeichel said. We had now two weeks and I met a lot of you and I hear almost in each question a little bit of doubt – are you really sure?

“We need to have atmospheres like this, not only when it’s the champions and we score four goals”, Klopp added after his side moved to fifth in the Premier League standings on seven points.

“We didn’t quite hit the standards that we know we can and they [Liverpool] punished us”, he told Leicester’s official website. They were the better team on the day and were to strong for the foxes. They move the ball very quickly, have pace to burn on the wings as well and they cut inside a lot and it is very hard to defend against.

Perhaps predictably in the minds of Liverpool fans their worries appeared to be for good reason, and Lucas got some stick for his mistake.

“We could have equalised but I’m an honest man, Liverpool deserved to win”, the Italian added.

Next up is a Friday night visit to some old friends at Stamford Bridge.

“This is the challenge for the whole season”.

Liverpool did not regain the initiative until 11 minutes after the break, but it was worth the wait as England midfielder Lallana arrowed his shot sweetly into the top corner.

And he hopes to be inspired by Champions League football.

“We scored wonderful goals… and conceded a not-too-wonderful goal! It will be another kind of football but we are ready”, he said. It wasn’t only the goal he took with aplomb or the brilliant run that led to Firmino’s second goal but the work he did off the ball.
