In his National Football League debut this past Sunday, Wentz completed 22 of 37 passes for 278 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles’ 29-10 win over Cleveland. He didn’t start for over a year until the Browns gave him the opportunity, and it ended up being both an bad return performance for him, and a game that sends him away from the picture for a couple of months.

Although the troubled quarterback appears to be continuing to struggle with his wild tendencies off the field, a new report has named him as a possible replacement for Robert Griffin III who was taken off the field with a shoulder injury during the first game of the Cleveland Browns’ season on Sunday. However, the team didn’t think enough of Jared Goff to move up or Carson Wentz and traded the selection to the Eagles. He opened the regular season Sunday in Philadelphia, a win over the Cleveland Browns.
Wentz did a great job of throwing the football down the field against the Browns.
McCown, who has once again been thrust into a starting role in Cleveland, told PFT Live on Monday that it motivates him even more when people say the Browns should tank.
Barack Obama was speaking in Philadelphia at an event promoting Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid, and during his address, the president referenced VP Joe Biden and the new Eagles quarterback. Griffin has a history of injuries and of not protecting himself, so his not staying healthy wasn’t a huge surprise.
Griffin, 26, has a fractured coracoid bone in his left (nonthrowing) shoulder that will be re-evaluated in three to four weeks, the Browns said.
Jackson was a strong public supporter of Griffin even before late March, when Griffin signed a two-year, $15 million contract, with $6.75 million guaranteed this season. “We’re going to have to stick by him, put the right pieces around him and help him learn how to play that position as well”.
Jackson, though, can’t let his mind drift beyond this week’s home opener against the Ravens.
