Sony is set to release the 4.0 update for the PlayStation 4 later today and it will add that much anticipated HDR update for those with compatible TVs to take advantage of. After updating your system to version 4.00 you’ll see HDR in the Video Output Settings to power your HDR gaming and entertainment. The PS4 Pro will not get a 4K Blu-ray player as expected and will not be able to display 4K/HDR disks. A lot of the changes include larger icons, and easier access to new content. One new addition is an enhanced Music section to allow you to discover, play, and control Spotify without needing to open the app.
The Playstation 4 Pro will become available on the 10th of November at a price of $399, £349 or €399. Everything including game saves, data and account information can be transferred from one console to another with the help of a LAN connection.
Another new feature in the 4.0 update for players that like to keep a close eye on their friend’s trophies and activities, the What’s New section has a new design as well. Starting with the Quick Menu, Sony has made it easier to access without leaving your game by having it take up a portion of your screen. These can be added to both the main home-screen and your library and will store as many games and apps as you wish. On the other hand, the Xbox One S uses an AMD Radeon graphics engine with 914 MHz of processing power, and 8 GB of DDR3 RAM.
There are even more bits within the update, which you can check out by hitting the source link below or flipping through the gallery above. You can also personalize your profile with a cover image.

The Communities size limit was upped to 100,000, which should come in handy to the swarms of fans who are dying to share screenshots and achievements directly on the Community wall, with as many people as possible. You’ll also be able to like, share, comment, etc. on the posts. Sharing videos to Twitter gives you up to 140 seconds of playback time.
