Apple iPhone 7 pre-orders strong, say Sprint and T

When analysts heard last week that Apple would not be releasing first-weekend pre-orders for the iPhone 7, at least one said it was an indication that the company knew its product was “mature”.
iPhone 7 is up for pre-order and when it comes to pre-orders there are so many factors that account into a purchase. Pre-orders also rose almost four times at T-Mobile, compared with its next most popular iPhone. It also said pre-registrations before then also broke records.
Also on Tuesday, T-Mobile US Inc. and Sprint Corp. each issued news releases suggesting strong consumer interest in the new phones.
T-Mobile CEO John Legere credited the increase to the company’s advanced LTE network; its unlimited talk, text and high-speed data plan; and a special offer it is running. Under the iPhone Upgrade Program, if they get the iPhone 7 late this year, they would have to wait longer next year for the iPhone 8 too, unless they want to pay extra. However, when Apple made their latest smartphone, the iPhone 7, available on September 9, the upgrade programs customers were prevented from selecting the product of their choice and were instead directed to various stores that had what Frank describes as an artificially low inventory.
The comments from T-Mobile and Sprint aren’t helping their stocks amid the broader market selloff.
