A press conference was held at 4:00 p.m.in Ashland at The Ashland County Job & Family Services where Ashland Police Chief, David Marcelli, briefly discussed the investigation.
Three bodies were found in northeast OH on Tuesday – two in Ashland and another in Mansfield.
Ashland Police, along with the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Ashland County Prosecutor’s Office and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation are investigating the case. They found the woman in the house at 363 Covert Court.
Currently, the county coroner is working to identify the two bodies recovered in Ashland, Ohio, this morning, and the third body later recovered elsewhere in Madison Township, Ohio.
The local American Red Cross chapter was on the scene providing food for the first responders and are expected to be there until late Wednesday, along with the BCI.
The houses at 363 and 365 Covert Court were supposed to be unoccupied, authorities said. Police are not identifying the abductor at this time because it is an open investigation.
Anxious family members of missing individuals in Ashland became heated and pressed Chief Marcelli for answers during the conference, but he refused to answer any questions.
The woman found alive is not listed as a missing person.
Stacey Stanley’s auto broke down on Thursday at the BP at the corner of Main and Union streets.
Ashland Police Chief Dave Marcelli said he could not confirm the identity or sex of the bodies found at the scene. He does not take any questions from reporters. Although he has not been officially confirmed as the suspect, sources reported Grate was the abductor before he was booked in the county jail.
The missing woman was alive.
