Charleston Southern football players sound off about reported suspensions

It isn’t yet known how numerous players will serve their suspensions on Saturday when Charleston Southern visits No. 3 Florida State.

School officials said the suspensions are for violating NCAA rules involving financial aid.

Today’s FSU Florida State Seminoles vs Charleston Southern college football game has a start time schedule of 12:30pm eastern time and will air on TV channel ACC ESPN Network. The players will have to pay back the additional money they spent on non-book supplies, according to Deadspin.

Prior to last weekend’s blowout victory, the Buccaneers fell to fellow FCS program North Dakota State 24-17 in overtime on August 27.

The school says a total of 32 players will serve one-game suspensions for using aid designated for purchasing books to buy other items. Apparently, Robinson and some other players used leftover money allotted for books on other bookstore products.

Charleston Southern first announced an internal review of the NCAA violations last week.

He ran for 83 yards on just 11 carries, 37 of which came on a winding, weaving touchdown run through the heart of the Charleston Southern defense midway through the third quarter.

FSU football star safety Derwin James injured his knee during a blowout win over Charleston Southern Saturday.

Other football players expressed similar social-media accounts that back up Robinson’s original post, including senior receiver Colton Korn. With the Tigers struggling against Troy State on Saturday, the voters might decide to move the Seminoles up a spot when the latest rankings are released on Monday.

Despite the depleted roster, coach Jamey Chadwell said after his team’s 52-8 loss that he “didn’t want it to be a pity party”.

Junior offensive lineman Frank Cirone posted on Facebook that the entire starting line will not play. “I think we’ll be fine”.

Louisville is a ACC divisional foe and has one of the hottest players in college football putting up insane offensive numbers in quarterback Lamar Jackson.

“It pains me to see my brothers from Florida having to call family and friends saying they won’t be able to play this weekend, much less the fact that the school told them the day before travel that they will be sitting at home instead, giving barely anytime to let family try to get out of financial obligations”, Korn said.

“These are book scholarship items that have been going on a long, long time”, Small told reporters.

In a separate incident, a Charleston Southern assistant is set to serve a one-game suspension against Florida State for an impermissible social media contact with a high school player.

“It’s obviously taken the country by storm, it seems”, Chadwell said. He will serve his suspension against Albany State on October 8. “Hopefully, we got out here healthy, we represented ourselves well and we get our check (from Florida State) on the way out”.
