Asheville police charge 2 men in assaults at Trump rally
At a rally in Des Moines, Mr Trump steered clear of mentioning her illness but stepped up efforts to wring maximum advantage from her controversial comment that his supporters are “deplorables”. She said investigators followed up on Monday night’s incident and arrested Thomas Vellanti Jr. on a disorderly conduct charge. The Asheville Police Department did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment.

Clinton has since walked back her “deplorables” comment about Trump’s supporters, saying she shouldn’t have put “half” of them in that category, but has insisted that his campaign has fostered xenophobia, sexism, and racism. “Hillary Clinton has been running a hate-filled and negative campaign, with no policy, no solutions, and no ideas”, he said.
And when a woman in a hijab tried to sit down as the group of protesters were ejected, the man shouted, “Get out!” and motioned for her to leave. Even then, the man stands near the protester with his fist cocked. The staffer did not ask the supporter to leave the rally.
Obama, whose 50 percent job approval rating could help improve the climate for the Democratic ticket in the November 8 election, rallied party faithful against Trump, a 70-year-old NY real estate developer, at an outdoor event in Philadelphia.
The Asheville Citizen-Times reported that another female protester was punched in the head by a Trump supporter outside the arena. Trump later suggested he might pay for the man’s legal bills. In fact, Trump gone so far as to encourage violence against protesters. Trump later said that man maybe “should have been roughed up”. But, then again, violence at Trump rallies is commonplace.
