At a rally in Des Moines, Mr Trump steered clear of mentioning her illness but stepped up efforts to wring maximum advantage from her controversial comment that his supporters are “deplorables”. She said investigators followed up on Monday night’s incident and arrested Thomas Vellanti Jr. on a disorderly conduct charge. The Asheville Citizen-Times reported that another female protester was punched in the head by a Trump supporter outside the arena. Trump later suggested he might pay for the man’s legal bills. In fact, Trump gone so far as to encourage violence against protesters. Trump later said that man maybe “should have been roughed up”. But, then again, violence at Trump rallies is commonplace.
