President Pranab Mukherjee’s wife Suvra Mukherjee passed away at around 10 am this morning in a Delhi hospital.

Suvra Mukherjee, the First Lady of India, passed away on Tuesday, August 18. “She left for her heavenly abode at 1051 AM”, Rashtrapati Bhawan spokesman Venu Rajamony said in a statement.
Suvra was not keeping well for quite some time and was admitted at a hospital for the past two weeks.
Suvra Mukherjee’s was born in Narhail district of Bangladesh.
Suvra and Pranab Mukherjee got married in 1957 and the couple is survived by their three children Sharmishta, Abhijit and Indrajit.
“Her condition is very critical”.
Suvra Mukherjee was an completed singer of Rabindra Sangeet.
Mrs Mukherjee wrote two books: Chokher Aloey which is a personal account of her close interaction with late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Chena Achenai Chin- a travelogue recounting her visit to China.
“Saddened to hear that Rashtrapati ji’s wife Suvra boudi is no more”. Such is life. We have to accept the truth. “She was simple, lovable and a caring housewife”, Trinamool Congress Chief said.

This time, the doctors were not able to save Mukherjee’s wife.
