Woman, good Samaritan improving after Kansas Wal-Mart attack

Authorities have arrested and charged a Kansas man in an attempted robbery and shooting at a suburban Kansas City store.
Police said the woman’s condition has been upgraded to good, and the wounded good Samaritan was alert while waiting to undergo surgery.
Police said the Kansas City, Kansas, woman was putting her baby in her vehicle Sunday afternoon in Shawnee when two suspects hit her in the head from behind.
Another Good Samaritan drew his own gun and shot one of the attackers, killing him.
