Square has updated its peer-to-peer payment iOS app that enables users to transfer money to anyone through their Apple Watch. The survey was conducted with over 1,000 respondents in the U.K. and the United States.

The survey finds that 19% of Watch owners tried out Apple Pay for the first time on their Watch, and that 80% of Watch users overall have used the service.
The statistics have shown perhaps unexpected results, but a number up to 80% claimed to have used the Apple Pay service at least once in their life.

Square today announced that its money transferring app “Square Cash” is making the leap to Apple Watch, allowing users to make and receive money transfers on Apple’s new wearable device (via TechCrunch).
This isn’t all that surprising as people willing to make the plunge for the Apple Watch are likely pretty deep into the Apple ecosystem and looking to get the most out of what it offers. Based on this rate, Wristly expects that it will soon rise to 95% which is actually pretty impressive when you consider that Apple Pay is only available in the US and the UK at the moment. The remaining 20% of respondents indicated they “do not perceive a benefit” to Apple Pay, have security concerns or believe their payment needs are already being met. Apple Pay launched with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus; the iPhone maker finally included an NFC chip in its phones to give way to the payment system.

All of which could easily be understandable, though it still remains that Apple Pay is highly popular among Apple Watch users, so all that is left is to see if the tradition will continue or further bloom with the new release.
