The show’s host, Tom Bergeron, interviewed Lochte after the incident and the swimming said, “I’m doing good”.

GMA” aired video that wasn’t shown during the live broadcast of one of the men being tackled by security.

When the show returned, host Bergeron explained they were interrupted by “a little incident” and thanked the ABC series’ security team “for staying in shape”. They were escorted out while being verbally confronted by dancer Derek Hough. The two were arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor trespassing and held on $1,000 bail each. A number for Soroudi could not be found.

The protesters were released from police custody at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, with a court date set for October 4, according to documents from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

CNN news cameras captured images of the two men outside as they were being led away, where they were reportedly seen outfitted in t-shirts bearing Lochte’s name with a circle around it and a slash through the middle. Preciado said police did not know what the protestors’ motivations or intentions were. Lochte also said he was “a little hurt”, adding, “I came out here and I wanted to do something I was completely uncomfortable with, and I did”.

Sododeh told reporters afterwards, “We were sitting in our seats and we walked out and said ‘He’s a liar.'” LAPD noted that neither man touched Lochte, Burke, or any of the judges during the freaky exchange. They received a combined score from the judges of 24 out of 40.

Lochte has been under scrutiny after he and other US Olympic teammates were in an incident in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Lochte claimed that Rio police robbed him and put a gun to his head, but he recanted that story after police claimed it didn’t happen. Lochte eventually lost four of his sponsorships and was suspended from the Olympic team for ten months.
