Obama hits campaign trail for Clinton in Philadelphia

Hillary Clinton’s husband defended her Sunday health scare by insisting she “frequently” becomes faint when she’s dehydrated – but he also said the collapse was not indicative of larger medical issue because such spells “rarely” happen.

The abruptly rapid turn of events has called into question why Clinton delayed by two days revealing the pneumonia diagnosis. But during her interview Monday, Clinton sought to turn criticism of her secrecy over her illness into an attack on Republican rival Donald Trump.

Instead of campaigning and fund-raising in California, Clinton was resting Monday at her home in New York’s Westchester County and reassuring supporters she is on the mend. “She divides people into baskets – as though they were objects, not human beings”, Mr. Trump said, adding that his supporters are “wonderful, fantastic people”. “It’s just the kind of thing if it happens to you and you’re an active person you keep moving forward”, Clinton said.

Mrs Clinton rested at her home in Chappaqua, New York, from pneumonia, a diagnosis that was made on Friday but which she kept secret until she almost collapsed in New York on Sunday at a ceremony marking the 11 September 2001 attacks.

A video posted to Twitter by user @zgazda66 appeared to show Clinton stagger and struggle to get into a black van as her staff and security assisted her. Clinton attended the ceremony for an hour and a half before leaving to head to her daughter Chelsea Clinton’s Manhattan apartment, according to her spokesman.

“I think really only twice that I can recall”.

“We could have gotten more information out more quickly”, said Clinton campaign press secretary Brian Fallon.

As Clinton walked to the motorcade, she began to feel dizzy and had to be helped into her van. “And, obviously, that did not work out so well”, she said.

President Barack Obama delivered a forceful critique of the 2016 presidential election Tuesday, excoriating Republican nominee Donald Trump and the media for grading him “on a curve”. “I’m aware of it and usually can avoid it”, she said.

The incident reinforced Clinton’s reputation as a public figure with a predisposition for privacy.

Hillary Clinton is set to return to the campaign trail on Thursday after taking a three-day hiatus to recover from pneumonia.

Mr Trump said in a phone interview with Fox News he hoped Mrs Clinton got well.

AIC Political Science Professor Julie Walsh explained to 22News that since Clinton is 68, and Trump is 70, that issue will probably remain on the table.
