Saints RB Spiller has knee surgery
Spiller won’t see any action on the field this preseason due to a knee injury that required surgery. Reports suggest that Spiller should be ready in time for the Saints’ week 1 trip to Arizona.

Many Saints fans are wondering whether running back C.J.
The team may also look to bring in another back while Spiller is sidelined.
Over the last two seasons, Spiller has been oft injured. This could be a concern for the Saints going forward.

Robinson had 2 carries for 35 yards and 3 catches for 37 yards and a 21-yard TD reception in the preseason opener for the Saints at Baltimore. Spiller looked like he was an up and coming star in the NFL, that was until injuries took over. Thomas, who spent the first eight years of his career with New Orleans, remains unsigned after being released by the team in March. He also did not participate in the final practice before the game. Which is roughly once every 4 games.

And if Spiller by chance does miss any significant time beyond Week 1? The Saints would be wise not to rush Spiller back, or they might not get any production out of him this season.
