PS4 4.00 Out Now, Here’s What It Adds and Changes

The PS4 system software update 4.00 is already out now. This particular bundle will come out on November 15. PlayStation 4 has finally seen what most would consider its largest firmware overhaul since launch.

The new, slim PS4 will give gamers an additional choice for how they wish to enjoy PlayStation content, according to KEF Media.

Unfortunately for some of you Fallout 4 fans out there, Sony will not be offering mod support for the game on PlayStation 4.

When comparing the new PS4 model to the current model, we’ve reduced volume by 30 percent, weight by 16 percent, and power consumption by 28 percent.

The answer depends on a few factors, including some that have yet to be determined.

As reported by PC Mag, PS4 Update 4.00 offers convenience to players when it comes to music streaming. The update also allows for streaming in 1080p, on YouTube, Twitch, and for remote play.

Project Scorpio has been called “the most powerful console ever” by the Microsoft company. This enables you to transfer content between PS4’s (and PS4 Pro) via an ethernet cable attached to both of them via LAN. The PS4 home screen gets a little cluttered when you have too many games, so folders will alleviate that.

“In addition to updating the Quick Menu to make it easier to access without leaving your game by having it cover only a portion of the screen and making it more customizable, we’ve also added several new items to the menu”.

Potential buyers should know that the Xbox One S and PS4 Pro are just upgraded versions of the Xbox One and PS4, respectively.

Now You: What’s your take on the PS4 Slim and Pro? Sony says the Pro will allow for some benefits on 1080p televisions, but nothing yet indicates it will be enough to justify the $100 bump in price. Apart from the promised HDR output, the update also tweaks the menu screens and adds folders, reports The Verge.

That’s because while your original PS4 – the actual original or the new slimmer model – does indeed support HDR from today, now there’s nothing you can run on it that makes use of the tech.
