Super Mario Run Coming to iOS

Here’s what you need to know about the Mario Run release date on Android and iPhone. During the Apple event today, Shigeru Miyamoto came on stage to reveal the game, which is an automatic runner similar to Ubisoft’s mobile Rayman games.

According to Polygon, Nintendo confirmed that the delays are indeed related to Super Mario Run’s impending holiday release. An Android version of the game is planned to release at a later point, Nintendo told Kotaku.

Sound off in the comments whether you are excited for Super Mario Run and whether it will be able to recreate the feel of the original NES game. Mario will zip towards the finish line automatically, and you just have to tap to jump and avoid obstacles.

The game will be the first incarnation of the iconic series which it will be possible to play with one hand. The game will also feature a new battle mode called Toad Rally, where a player can try to beat a high scorer. Super Mario Run is expected to land first on iOS later this year. You’ll be able to play it one-handed too, making it flawless for playing on the tube, or – as Miyamoto was keen to demonstrate – eating an apple (sorry). Players can compete against others from around the world.

“Super Mario Run” for iPhone will launch in December.

In addition, John Hanke, CEO of the “Pokemon” creator Niantic lab, also announced to launch “Pokemon Go” app for Apple’s watch.

Miyamoto said that Super Mario Run will be released for one set price, so that gamers won’t have to continuously make in-app purchases in order to play. The game has been already listed in App Store for free.

There will also be an interactive competitive mode, where players can challenge others’ high scores.
