2 from Texas killed in Boston crash

State police closed the eastbound lanes of the Ted Williams Tunnel after the crash, but all area roads have since reopened. Preliminary investigation into the crash indicates a Subaru Legacy exited the tunnel and hit the rear of a Hampton Inn shuttle bus shortly after it entered 1A north from the airport.

The man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene, said State Police spokesman David Procopio. The impact caused the bus to veer to the left, hitting the jersey barrier and then back to its right, hitting the right side barrier.

The auto was being driven by a Swampscott man, state police said. Both are of El Paso, Texas.

Four other victims from both vehicles were taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.

There were three other occupants of the shuttle bus, including the driver. A 45-year-old man from Tampa in the van was treated at Tufts Medical Center and released.
