Shaun Hill is expected to take the first snap Sunday when the Minnesota Vikings open their season against the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn. Eric Kendricks intercepted a Marcus Mariota pass in the third quarter and ran it back 77 yards for a touchdown.
Hill wasn’t sacked on Sunday, but he also had to move the offense without much of a contribution from the running game after Adrian Peterson gained just 31 yards on 19 carries.
Generally, getting 12 points from your defense is not how a coach writes things up but in this case, it’s exactly what Zimmer envisioned against the Titans.
Hill, who went 18 of 33 for 236 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions, seemed comfortable with the uncertainty.
The Minnesota Vikings used a pair of defensive touchdowns and four field goals from Blair Walsh to top the Titans 25-16 in the season opener in Nashville.

Against the Titans, he was wide left on a 37-yarder and missed two attempts at a 56-yard field goal before halftime with the ball coming nowhere near the uprights.
