Sweden’s Prince Alexander baptized at palace

On Friday September 9, the sweet son of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia was baptised before family and friends in the Royal Chapel at the Drottningholm Palace Church. She also wore a pearl headband and cream Mary Jane heels to match.

Sofia – a former glamour model and reality television presenter – was accompanied by her handsome husband of one year, 37-year-old Prince Carl Philip.

Prior to the event the little royal’s parents, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia, have announced who will be their son’s godparents.

His father and aunties, Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Madeleine, have also worn the family heirloom.

Her sisters-in-law Crown Princess Victoria, who is a godmother to baby Alexander, and Princess Madeleine were also spotted arriving at the church with their husbands and children.

The photos were taken at Drottningholm Palace after the ceremony by Mattias Edwall.

They are also pictured with the young prince and his godparents – Crown Princess Victoria, Lina Frejd, Wendy Larsson, Jan-åke Hansson and Victor Magnuson who all dressed to perfection.

The ceremony was steeped in tradition, with baby Alexander naturally stealing the show.

Thousands of well-wishers lined the streets for the wedding of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia past year. The party then moved on to the palace for a reception and a private lunch.
