Mickey Gall submits CM Punk by rear-naked choke in first round
WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar lost his UFC debut to former UFC champ Frank Mir in 2008, but unlike Punk, Lesnar dominated the action, before getting caught with a kneebar to lose by submission at 1:30 of the first round. So fair play. He got his ass whupped. Gall said that Punk told him to “always feel you belong”, according to MMA Fighting. Gall also enjoyed some time in the spotlight that he wouldn’t have had otherwise, and CM Punk fulfilled a longstanding dream of fighting for the biggest MMA organisation in the world. He’s the biggest favorite on the card but you can’t count Punk out.

“I just fell off a bike”.
In fairness to Punk, it took a lot of courage to actually step into the Octagon like that. “I’m going to hurt you.’ And then he kept staring at me as I walked off, I was like ‘Keep looking at me.’ That’s all”. Even despite suffering some injuries in his training to fight in the UFC, CM Punk showed up to his first bout ready to take Mickey on…it just didn’t go so hot.
Gall’s rear naked choke took Punk down in only 2:14 minutes into the first round. I know it sounds preachy and kinda weird for a guy that just got beat up, but (expletive) it.
“When he didn’t shake my hand and he was giving me that hard look I said “you’re an actor, you’re still acting”, Gall said after UFC 203 was finished.
CM Punk was beaten badly in his MMA debut at UFC 203 last night (Sat., Sept. 10, 2016) in Cleveland, Ohio. I knew what to expect.
The next highest earner was Fabricio Werdum, who made $375K for his decision victory over Travis Browne.
However, once the fight started, it was Mickey Gall all the way.

“This was the most fun I’ve had in my life, the second best night of my life after marrying my wife”. “So I think he will have another fight”. Although Punk has nearly exclusively spent his time training since he signed with the UFC, Gall has been honing his skills for more than eight years.
