Emery confident PSG will win by repeating Arsenal display

Grzegorz Krychowiak started in midfield alongside Adrien Rabiot and Marco Verratti while Blaise Matuidi was fielded in an unusual position on the left wing to contain Hector Bellerin. There was some good, and some not so good. ‘I would say it’s the most mature squad I’ve had for a long time, because they are men. In terms of intensity and aggression, it was rather good.

“We had seven clear chances, that is the most important thing”. They could and should have done, as the Gunners were second best all over the pitch. “It was a good game”. “I would have preferred to start, but physically I am still not quite there, as the coach has told me”. Even in the first half you could see that if we managed to keep the ball a bit better we would be risky – we created chances. We will continue to see it in the Champions League and hopefully every other side competition this year as well because he deserves it.

Cavani benefited from some loosing marking by the Arsenal centre backs to glance home Serge Aurier’s cross.

Unai Emery is similarly struggling – PSG have dominated Ligue 1 in recent years but now sit seventh with only seven points from their first four games.

During the game against Southampton in the Premier League we slept and we need to change this in the future.

Speaking about PSG first, they have replaced Laurent Blanc with former Sevilla manager Unai Emery for the new season.

According to Arsenal’s website, Nacho Monreal reckons PSG “are a great team [which has] won many domestic titles over the last few years, and they keep on improving as the seasons go by”.

“Because I love where I am”, he replied when asked why he had turned down PSG’s overtures. They put us under a lot of pressure physically, but even in the first half I thought we could be risky.
