Security top priority for next leader: Clinton
Clinton said the United States is willing to work with anybody, including, of course, Putin.

“What you see is …”
In July, he said of the late Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, “He was a bad guy, really bad guy, but you know what he did well?” When asked about some of Putin’s troubling actions, Trump didn’t criticize the Russian president, suggesting instead that he could “start naming some of the things that President Obama does at the same time”.
The campaign later said it did not realize Trump’s conversation with Larry King would air on RT, and that they would not have agreed to the interview had they known.
Rival Hillary Clinton had criticised Trump for praising Putin on Wednesday, and this will only further exacerbate the school of thought that Trump has ties to Russian interests.
Trump’s interview with King was promoted by RT America as an exclusive. “It still looks positive, and I think if you look at the swing states and where she is right now, she’s got a lead”.
And a Russian puppet, to boot.
Trump said Monday on CNBC that he fears he won’t be treated fairly.
But the posing was a bit awkward. Romney was mocked by Obama, among others, for the statement. “I said that is a strong, powerful government that put it down with strength”, he said. Trump and his advisers have taken a strikingly pro-Putin line, and Trump and his advisers also have had extensive financial ties to Russian Federation.
Trump also dismissed accusations that he doesn’t have a firm grasp of military issues or a plan to combat the Islamic State. It has particularly alarmed the GOP’s hawkish national security wing, which hews nearly universally to its longstanding view of Russian Federation as an implacable foe of the United States.
Democratic presidential nominee Clinton said that Trump’s comment was “not just unpatriotic and insulting to the people of our country, as well as our commander in chief, it is scary”.
Digging into the crosstabs a bit – you can check out the 2014 ones here, and the 2016 ones here – the change appears to have occurred nearly entirely among voters who say they supported Donald Trump in the primaries.
On CNN Friday, Trump’s campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, defended Trump’s media appearance and remarks to CNN’s Chris Cuomo.
Donald Trump told mourners at a funeral service for conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly that she promoted the idea that the “little person” can beat “the rigged system”.
But none of this matters to Trump’s critics.

Donald Trump wants to debate Hillary Clinton without a moderator because the debate system is “being rigged”. “[Hillary Clinton] having to dumb herself down to deal with this – idiot -on the other side”, said “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski. “They are Americans and they deserve your respect”. I’m not sure. You tell me.
