‘Will you miss your mom?’ American reporter accidentally makes boy cry before
The first day of school is heart wrenching for both parents and their kids, so Macias just embodies the emotions most kids his age feel on the first day. There’s nervousness and excitement all at the same time, which is enough to overwhelm anyone, certainly a four-year-old starting pre-kindergarten. It was especially so for one Los Angeles boy.

This is perhaps why the viral video of a little boy crying on his first day of pre-K at City Terrace Elementary School in Los Angeles, CA, seems particularly compelling.
Initially Andrew answered questions with a cheeky grin on his face.
“Are you going to miss your mom?” she asked.

The young boy was interviewed by KTLA 5 News’ reporter Courtney Friel, who asked him about his move to school. He began to frown and tear up and then the waterworks came out in full force.

A few seconds later, the boy’s mother gave him a hug while off-camera.
