What the commitment of Sacha Killeya-Jones means for UK’s 2016 class
Killeya-Jones is a bit of a late bloomer with a long, athletic frame – similar to that of other recent Kentucky big men, including Anthony Davis and Willie Cauley-Stein.

On Wednesday morning, Sacha Killeya -Jones announced that he would be playing for the University of Kentucky. It’s the second commitment for UK in what may be the best class of the last decade and the Cats still have plenty of options.
Killeya-Jones joins four-star power forward Tai Wynyard in the Wildcats’ 2016 class, though Wynyard should be on campus as early as December. Killeya-Jones ultimately chose Kentucky over Kansas, UNC, NC State, St. Joseph’s, Virginia and Wake Forest. “I know I have to earn my playing time”. The 6-foot-10 forward lives in Virginia and was committed to Virginia until he withdrew that commitment in June.
“Killeya-Jones is big at 6’10”, but 247Sports lists him at only 207 pounds, which suggests that he must grow into his body before becoming a truly dominant player at the collegiate level.
Kentucky is nowhere near done with their recruiting for 2016 players, as they are in on a lot of the top players who have yet to decide including Fox and number one overall player Harry Giles.

Killeya-Jones is Calipari’s first recruit in the class of 2016, but only because Jamal Murray re-classified to the class of 2015.
