President Barack Obama Hits Campaign Trail for Hillary Clinton in Philadelphia

Clinton’s health scare after she nearly collapsed at an event on Sunday, causing her to cancel some campaign trips, revived concerns about a tendency toward secrecy that has dogged her campaign, and underscored perennial worries about the medical fitness of candidates for one of the world’s most demanding jobs. More than 20 hours later, her campaign gave a fuller accounting of the episode, which sparked a wave of bipartisan concern about her health and questions about her political transparency. He added that if there are more health problems that caused her apparent weakness Monday, “then it’s a mystery to me and all of her doctors”.

Meanwhile, her husband former US President Bill Clinton has dismissed mounting health rumours about his wife, saying she is “doing fine”.

Clinton said in a speech last week that half of Trump’s supporters belong “in a basket of deplorables” and accused them of being racist and homophobic. There was little shade where Clinton was standing alongside other dignitaries. Her campaign later said she was diagnosed with pneumonia two days earlier. She was diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday but she kept it secret until she almost collapsed in on Sunday at a ceremony in Manhattan marking the September 11, 2001, attacks. Obama said at a campaign rally in Philadelphia.

Clinton’s lead has fallen by an average of about seven points, to an average of just 2.4 points, which is within the margin of error of most polls. “I’m still actually recovering from the cough that I got through that”.

As Clinton walked to the motorcade, she began to feel dizzy and had to be helped into her van. “The pneumonia is the extent of it”, Clinton’s spokesman Fallon told MSNBC.

“She was even better last night before she went to sleep”.

Clinton’s physician, Dr Lisa Bardack, released a statement via the campaign and said she had pneumonia. “It’s a attractive day in NY”.

Obama, whose 50 percent job approval rating could help improve the climate for the Democratic ticket in the November 8 election, rallied party faithful against Trump, a 70-year-old NY real estate developer, at an outdoor event in Philadelphia.

The public was left in the dark about Clinton’s whereabouts for about 90 minutes, sparking widespread speculation about her condition. “That’s on us and we regret that”. The Clinton camp plans to release more information this week.

The Clinton campaign did not disclose the diagnosis until the episode on Sunday. Former President Bill Clinton will headline that event in her place.

Obama’s campaign trip to Philadelphia – his first appearance on the trail since a joint appearance with Clinton in Charlotte in July – was scheduled weeks ago. “But I think after yesterday’s incident, everybody was agreed that she should take a couple of days off the trail”.
