Rangers condemn Celtic supporters for ‘sickening and shameful’ display
After the home side’s 5-1 victory, photos posted on social media reportedly showed a stadium toilet block with ceiling tiles scattered on the floor, wires and ventilation equipment hanging down, broken toilet seats and cubicle doors pulled off.

As a Rangers fan, player or staff member, whatever it may be, right now we eat humble pie, as the fact is we lost 5-1 on Saturday, but that will live in the memory in terms of what’s been said and we will certainly utilise that going forward.
The reaction of both Celtic and Police Scotland has so far been pitiful.
Celtic supporters also came under fire for producing a banner which read “Hun Scum” and dangling two plastic effigies with hands tied behind their backs in the manner of an execution from the upper tier of the Jock Stein Stand.
Alan Grogan wrote: “As a Celtic fan I am sickened to see the effigies of hanged rangers fans at Parkhead”.
So much so that at the beginning of this year they received their own standing section within Celtic Park.
Rangers fans were accused of causing significant damage to a toilet block at Celtic Park, however the visiting supporters were themselves angered over alleged sectarian banners at Celtic Park and effigies wearing Rangers scarves being hung from the stands.
Rangers directors have now promised to hold talks with official supporter group Club 1872 after they called for the entire Celtic support to be barred from Ibrox when the teams next meet.
One fan wrote: “I’m a Rangers fan and I’m really disappointed at this, the is not how football should be remembered”.
But Police Scotland has now confirmed that an investigation will be launched into the vandalism. This follows on from similar banners at last year’s Scottish Cup semi-final.
“In light of this, we have today written to the Rangers board requesting that they ban Celtic supporters from Ibrox until Celtic can prove that they have taken substantive action against the Green Brigade and other overtly sectarian elements within their support”.
He said: “It was a vile and insensitive stunt which, understandably, has attracted widespread condemnation”. “This was a new low but there were other unacceptable images which were also deeply offensive to Rangers supporters”.

“We will deal with these matters as we always do in a professional and private manner”.
