It’s the first time Nintendo has created a proper game entirely separately from one of its consoles. There was a lot of talk about the game debuting on iOS this fall, enough to question whether it would be a platform exclusive.
A new Super Mario app is coming to iOS this year! Shigeru Miyamoto worked on the game as lead creator, continuing Nintendo’s partnership with DeNA. Nintendo didn’t say anything during its presentation-a move that makes sense given that it was an Apple Event-but it confirmed afterwards that Super Mario Run would also make the jump to Apple’s main rival. It will initially be released exclusively on Apple’s App Store in December for iPhone and iPad, with it following at a later date on Android.
The game maker’s stock rose 29 percent after it announced it will release “Super Mario Run” in Apple’s App Store in December.
Within the app, you’ll also find a Battle Mode called Toad Rally.
The goal of the game is simple: collect coins and reach the flagpole.
One of the biggest surprises from Apple’s September 7 event was the announcement that Mario is coming to the iPhone.
Miyamoto explained that you’re required to jump and dash over obstacles in single player mode.

There is no flag in the mode, but rather, the players keep running, jumping and collecting coins until the time runs out. An Android version of the game is planned to release at a later point, Nintendo told Kotaku. Furthermore, Nintendo said today that they will not be able to launch their fifth planned mobile game by March 2017, as previously promised.
