The Sept. 7th Commander-in-Chief forum is being billed as “the first joint candidate event of the general election”, and is set to air live at 8 p.m. ET on both NBC and MSNBC.
Trump and Clinton are also scheduled to appear in three presidential debates on September 26, October 9 and October 19.
Mediaite reports that Lauer had been known as a “notable member” of the Clinton Global Initiative, the main organization of the Clinton Foundation. How can Lauer be impartial and fair, the outraged right is asking, if he’s aligned himself with Clinton’s interests?
A since deleted web page on the Clinton Global Initiative site touting several prominent TV anchors as “notable members” is creating controversy for NBC News’ Matt Lauer.
One insider noted that the page mentioning the “Today” show host has been removed from the Clinton Foundation website.
According to a press release, Clinton and Trump will be on stage back-to-back answering questions on national security, military affairs and veterans issues from NBC News and an audience comprised mainly of military veterans and active service members. Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo, who appeared on the list alongside Lauer, Cooper, Couric, and 10 others, had previously contacted the outlet to say that she had never been a member of the CGI.

Matt Lauer is a better pick than Rachel Maddow, but he is still a longtime Clinton supporter.
