Apple users report problem in updating to new iPhone software

However, some users were reporting continued problems on Wednesday, saying their phones or tablets had been bricked by the update and they were unable to make them work.

The reason for this was because of the huge number of devices that were being bricked because of the iOS 10 update, although only those that were updated OTA.

Apple has since announced the issue has been resolved.

Connect your iOS device to a Mac or a PC and open iTunes. If you have previously backed up your device with iTunes, you might be able to restore from your back-up during set-up. “To help our customers transform their business through mobility, we needed to help our customers put their workers’ business phones in their pockets”. The update also lets you pick up WhatsApp calls from the lock screen just like normal calls.

Some early adopters of iOS 10.0 discovered that their iPhones and iPads were busted by the new version of the operating system, turning their devices into rather expensive paper weights or doorstops.

Setup should be done in couple of minutes and if it takes more than 15 minutes, then repeate the first 3 steps of this process. So if you haven’t installed the update yet, then it will be a wise option to hold off for sometime until things settle down a bit. However, there were no reports about those who updated the firmware manually via iTunes. Other than this hiccup, iOS 10 is being widely touted as a must-have download since it offers so many new features, both subtle and life-changing.

There’s also a bunch of new features in iOS 10 that Apple didn’t talk about during the launch.

On the iPad side, iOS 10 will work with all iPad Air and iPad Pro models, the 4th-generation iPad, and the iPad mini 2 and later. iOS 10 will also work with Apple’s sixth-generation iPod Touch.

It seems that when Apple releases a new update, a glitch is sure to follow.
