Tom Brady pleased with Pats’ effort in win vs. Cards

Analysts were speculating if this was finally the year someone usurped the Patriots in the AFC East. Questions were circulating that without Brady, the Patriots could fall all the way to 0-4 and in last place before Brady even gets back; but then Jimmy Garoppolo happened. The defense played great. And Jimmy did everything he was asked to. As for Tom Brady, he had fun sitting at home as a spectator and as a quarterback, learned a few things. I spent a little time working out and obviously watched a lot of football.

He added: “It was a great game to watch”. It was the type of game Brady would’ve flourished in, so it was great for him to see his teammates shock the NFL.

But the Patriots proved they are more than just their two top stars on Sunday, claiming a 23-21 victory and catching a nice break late in the fourth quarter when the Cardinals missed a 47-yard field goal that likely would have won the game. I know Coach Belichick covers so much situational football with our team on a week-to-week basis. That’s a tough environment to play in.

There are some players though the Cardinals cannot have a repeat performance from if they want to get in the win column on Sunday. A lot of great plays by Jimmy, by the skilled players, the offensive line did a great job.

“I watched that one channel – that Red Zone Channel that captures everything, which is pretty unbelievable”. You get so many different angles and replays and you don’t get those things when you’re playing. You see a lot of situations. There’s a lot to learn every week in the NFL. The Cardinals can live with a less than stellar game from rookie defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche as he still is learning and will get better as time goes along. There was a lot of close games yesterday, the two-point conversion in the Raiders-Saints game, the ebbs and flows of that game and the Jacksonville-Green Bay game. “It was just so much fun to watch”.
