The Duchess of Cambridge is expected to attend a Buckingham Palace banquet with her husband to welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan to the UK. As Hello Magazine points out, it seems more than likely that something came up at home, and the Duchess of Cambridge needed to stay and take care of either herself, or one of her two children.

Pippa Middleton, Kate’s sister, was there to see upmarket estate agent and amateur boxer Bear Maclaine marry pretty socialite Daisy Dickson, and so was TV presenter Natalie Pinkham.
But luckily for Prince William, Pippa Middleton was able to step in as a last-minute replacement as his plus one.
It was further narrated that per her request, all of their spare time must be spent with their family, especially with their children, rather than attending some functions.

Kate Middleton will have an occasion to wear a tiara very soon. As such, William is particularly sensitive to photographers willing to do anything to get a photo of the young Prince George. So, when Kate was spotted healthy and happy during a shopping trip 3 days before missing Mia’s christening, it was a huge surprise.
Luckily, royal watchers who miss seeing Will and Kate together might be in for a real treat in a few weeks – the Duchess of Cambridge will finally get another chance to don a tiara.

“William used to be allowed to go to things on his own and he’d always excuse Kate’s absence, but she’s asked him to avoid going to any social functions for the time being – with or without her”.
