Steve Sarkisian joins Alabama football program as analyst
Steve Sarkisian, who was sacked as the University of Southern California football coach last season, is now working as an analyst for No. 1 Alabama, the reigning national champions who dismantled the No. 20 Trojans, Sarkisian’s former team, 52-6 on Saturday.

He is set to work for Fox Sports as a television analyst, but could reunite with fellow former USC coach Lane Kiffin at Alabama instead.
As an analyst, Sarkisian can watch film of games and practice and provide input on the overall direction of the team, including the game plan. “But I think he understands the consequences that he deals with professionally if he has an issues or problems”. We still need to get more guys who can play winning football and create more depth on our team. He’s known him a long time, as has Kiffin.
Although Alabama Coach Nick Saban said following Alabama’s 52-6 victory over Southern Cal in Arlington, Texas, Saturday night that he saw a lot of room for improvement, it is likely that the Bama coaching staff had a hard time limiting the weekly Players of the Game to only 10. Personal demons and addictions got the best of the former head coach, and he had to seek professional attention.
Sarkisian was sacked in the middle of past year after several controversies. Sarkisian and Kiffin both served as offensive coordinators under head coach Pete Carroll during the Trojans triumphant championship runs in the mid-2000s. He then served as Kiffin’s replacement at USC in 2014, leading the Trojans to a 9-4 record and a win over Nebraska in the Holiday Bowl.
“We played a very good team today, and they played up to their potential”, Helton said after the game.
Sarkisian was 34-29 in five seasons in Seattle. “We can’t take them for granted”. “We’re glad to have him as a part of the organization and hopefully he’ll be able to get back on his feet”.
“We got off to a little bit of a shaky start in the first quarter, especially on offense”, Saban said.
After the game, he made it a point to play nice, and he even showed love to plenty of the Trojans’ players and staff members.
ALABAMA: While the Tide are still unproven at quarterback after playing two freshmen, the biggest hole on offense was left by Henry’s absence.
The Huskies went 0-12 in 2008, the year before he was hired.
