After Mel and Sue confirmed that they would not be moving with The Great British Bake Off when it relocates from the BBC to Channel 4, the rumour mill is already in full swing as to who could be taking over in the tent.

Jamie has made no secret of his love of the show – or the fact that he’d love to be involved.

“We’ve had the most incredible time on Bake Off, and have loved seeing it rise and rise like a pair of yeasted Latvian baps”.

Mrs Wallace said: “Some people say they are going to boycott the programme once it moves but that’s perhaps going too far”.

The dynamic duo are said to be weighing up their options but with the chemistry being a vital part of the show’s success the future of the much loved show is in turmoil. The whole family loves it, ‘ he said.

“Lets see if Mary Berry remains loyal to the @BBCOne Without her and Hollywood Bake off will be no good”.

During an appearance on Top Gear this year, he spoke of the potential of them leaving the channel if the show moved.

Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc were key to the show’s wry warmth and heart. BBC was hopeful that Love productions would relinquish the rights to the show as it was “quintessentially BBC programme”.

Kirstie Allsopp tweeted: “Bake Off shift shows a disgraceful lack of gratitude from the producers to the BBC who commissioned it in the first place, not a smart move”.

Channel 4 said it was “very proud” to be the new home for the series.

At the beginning of 2015 they made their return to ITV with a daytime chat show titled Mel And Sue, which was not renewed after its 30-episode run.
