An elderly woman was brutally punched in the face by a robber while inside an Omaha, Nebraska, church on Sunday, during a purse snatching.

Police are investigating after a 76-year-old woman was robbed and punched in the face inside a church in Omaha.
In the video shared by Father James Netusil, Associate Pastor, two men can be seen entering the church before approaching a woman reading a church newsletter.
He said the woman was “pretty shaken up” and initially didn’t want to be taken to the hospital.
According to local media, the tumble into the table caused a gash on the head of the elderly victim.
Fr. Michael Gutgsell said, “Of course it’s shocking because we haven’t had anything like that here – at least not in 10 years”.
Surveillance video showed two men run up behind the woman.
Now she’s merely asking that people pray for her attackers. “‘Is it safe? Should I be in the church?’ And we tried to assure them this is a safe place and it was something completely out of the blue”.

The Omaha Police Department said in a statement that 22-year-old Wayman Clark has been arrested after a felony warrant for robbery was issued. Police said they are still trying to identify the second suspect asked anyone able to help to call (402) 444-STOP.
