Google New Pixel Launcher Now Available

The first concrete evidence of Google killing off its Nexus brand came in the form of the company renaming its Nexus Launcher, which had been available to download from the Google Play Store.

Moreover, fans are now assuming that the handsets will finally be revealed to the public next month which may well seem to be a ideal time since Apple has already rolled out their latest flagship, the iPhone 7 that many find to be packed with ho-hum specs and features that were already seen in some of its competitors. There are speculations suggesting that Google will no longer carry the Nexus branding on its flagship smartphone.

Stay tuned to SWR for more updates on Google Pixel Launcher.

According to the developer, Chris Lacy, the design is based completely on leaks and rumors that have been well documented around the web.

A leaked APK of what’s dubbed the Pixel Launcher has appeared, taking the place of a previously leaked add-on called the Nexus Launcher.

There are some caveats, though. However, more recent reports address the upcoming smartphones as Pixel and Pixel XL, respectively. It is found in the settings of the launcher where the user can change the wallpaper.

The new tablet is also rumored to be just a super-sized Nexus 6P, with the same internal hardware albeit with a significantly larger screen.

There are a few other aesthetic changes, like a slide-up entry into the app drawer, which gives you room for five apps and replaces the All apps button. Users will now be able to pull it up by swiping up from a “frosted” section of the screen. Among the modules that Google was working on was one that would integrate the functions of a glucometer so people with diabetes could measure their glucose levels using their smartphones.

Google’s Android OS has been labeled as unsecure on many occasions, especially with respect to diehard iOS fans, due to its open-ended nature.

Still, These are small things to worry about and Action Launcher is promising an experience “closest” to the Nexus Launcher, not an exact replica in terms of functionality. However, for activating the Google Now slider, the launcher still needs to be installed as a system app.
