Panicked Gmail users are taking to Twitter in their droves as Google’s email service experiences widespread outages. Users flooded social media with complaints and Google said it was trying to resolve the problem, which seemingly affected business accounts.
The problems appear to be limited to Google for Work Gmail users, the California-based technology company has confirmed.
Independent website Downdetector, which monitors service outages has received a flurry of reports, over the email service and its associated apps not working.
Another tweeted: “Chaos = when @gmail is down”.
Google said it will provide an update by 9:40 a.m. PT with more details on the issue.
Others have been left unable to load the login portal. Google has confirmed that it’s investigating an issue with its email service that’s used by hundreds and millions of people across the globe. We will provide more information shortly.
“911 my work gmail is down and I actually have stuff I need to get done ASAP”, one Twitter user posted. “The users are redirected to a page with “Service not available, contact your administrator”.
The US-based tech company also provided a solution to help people experiencing problems.
