Jamie Carragher, the ex-Liverpool and England defender, is not known for sugar-coating his opinions and last night gave his clear opinions on the performance of Manchester United’s Paul Pogba after his team’s defeat to local rivals Manchester City.
“I played semi-finals of the Champions League with an English club and had to play a crucial match in the Premier League two days before”.
Mourinho will be keen to get his side off to the right start in Europe following the weekend’s result, but finds an in-form Feyenoord side in his way as United play their first fixture in Group A of the competition.
“He is mainly a No 9 and if you want to play him in different positions, we need to work him, we need to improve him, but his big personality is there. My option in the last four games in the Premier League was Luke, Luke, Luke, Luke and I think it is time for Marcos to play so it was a simple decision”.
‘We won a couple of games, I scored a hat-trick at Anfield, but I also remember a couple of games at Old Trafford, playing with Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard.

It has been reported that United’s players are enjoying Mourinho’s new regime and have already established a strong relationship with the Portuguese and his six-man coaching staff.
