‘It is neither Kashmiriyat nor insaniyat’: Rajnath slams separatists
The members of the delegation, headed by Union home minister Rajnath Singh, met here today and discussed the outcome of their interactions with the civil society, political parties and government officials during the visit on September 4 and 5.

“What I learnt from some members of the all-party delegation, who went to meet the separatist leaders, was certainly neither “Kashmiriyat” nor “insaniyat” (humane)”, the Home Minister said.
The delegation members chose to travel by road in a secure convoy of cars from the Srinagar International Airport to The Lalit Grand Palace where they will meet various local leaders.
While the delegation, led by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, met mainstream sections, five members of the group broke away to meet the separatists. “Home Minister Rajnath Singh said in the all party meet that reports of government deciding to crack down on separatists is absolutely wrong”, Yechury told ANI.
The entire country and Parliament are pained by the situation in Kashmir and want early restoration of peace, he said. “There can be no compromise on issue of national sovereignty”, the resolution, read out by Minister of State in PMO Jitendra Singh, said.
Rajnath Singh said that the government was anxious about the situation in J&K. “Now that everything is on fire, they realise peace initiatives are required”, said Ajai Sahni, executive director of the Institute for Conflict Management in New Delhi. Nothing concrete will happen until or unless India talks to Pakistan on Kashmir. There should be a probe into allegations of excesses by security forces. Bhat welcomed the leaders but made it clear it has been decided that no talks will be held with the delegation members.
Former Chief Minister and working president of the regional National Conference (NC) Omar Abdullah on Sunday said the government can neither tire out nor buy the ongoing agitation in the Kashmir Valley and the only way out was to address it politically.
Miffed over the cold shoulder given by separatists to the MPs, who were part of the all-party delegation that visited the state, the Centre is reportedly considering moves to curb their foreign travel by withdrawing their passports and denying travel documents in some cases.
The all-party meeting in Delhi on the Kashmir unrest yielded the easily anticipated decision on further talks, messages of peace and requests for the people of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) to shun violence. “And, despite announcing employment schemes there has been no implementation at all, so announce some avenues to provide employment for Kashmiri youth”, said Yechury.

Giving details about the engagements of the all-party delegation, Singh said they interacted with more than 30 delegations comprising 300 persons from different walks of life.
