He beat a tea party activist in the primary and moves on to face Democratic Representative Ann Kilpatrick in the November general election.

In front of a packed crowd in Palm Beach Gardens, he rallied his supporters in what’s expected to be a close U.S. Senate Race.
During their re-election efforts, both McCain and Rubio have offered support for Trump as the party’s White House nominee and steered clear of attacks on that might antagonize Trump’s core supporters.
In March, Trump ended Rubio’s presidential run by trouncing him in the Florida primary to cap a race in which the NY businessman taunted the first-term senator as “little Marco”. Beruff earned 261,163 votes.
His main opponent, establishment-favored Patrick Murphy, a Congressman from Jupiter, handily won his primary Tuesday, with Grayson trailing him by more than 40 points; Murphy won 58.84 percent to Grayson’s 17.75.
Then, as GOP senators in Washington began to fret about their general election chances, the pressure mounted on Rubio to reverse course and make a late entry into the race.
“He’s going to have to account for his four years in Congress, where he was ranked by a non-partisan group as one of the most ineffective members”, Rubio said after winning. I think he’s very intelligent. “He’s conservative enough for me”.
First, though, there probably has to be more of a détente between Trump and Rubio, who declined to attend the Republican National Convention or give his former rival a full-throated endorsement.
“Senator Rubio is trying to distract from his awful record”. She ran uncontested in the primary, and Democrats are excited about her candidacy.
Jolly is going to have to work hard every day, but he is the right kind of moderate Republican to put up a fight.

In June, Murphy campaign manager Josh Wolf said in a statement that a CBS report that the candidate inflated his resume was “deeply false”. Marco Rubio is seeking to secure the Republican nomination for a second term and Democrats are deciding who should face him.
But Libertarian Paul Stanton, who defeated Augustus Invictus in that party’s primary on Tuesday, will be one of five other candidates on the ballot in November offering a choice beside Rubio or Murphy. That’s a potent issue in a state that’s ground zero for the disease, which can cause severe brain defects in babies.
Rubio is already using Murphy’s résumé gaffes against him.
Rubio also said he would prod the Senate to become a “check and balance on the excesses of the executive branch”, adding, “no matter who wins this (presidential) election”.
Rubio’s and Murphy’s victory speeches set the tone for the Senate race.
Beruff spent freely and aligned himself with Trump.
Also in Florida, despite being embroiled in scandal when she was ousted as the chair of the Democratic National Committee, Rep.
“In November of next year, I will either be the president of the United States or a private citizen again, because I have a sense of urgency”, Rubio said in October 2015. But he still emphasizes their many policy differences.
Elsewhere in the state, Angela Corey, a state attorney who investigated the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, lost the Republican primary for 4th circuit judicial state attorney.

Rubio fired back, insulting Trump on everything from his hair color and the size of his hands to misspelled words in tweets.
