Titans expect Vikings to start Bradford

NOTES: Bradford had been to Minnesota once in his life before the trade.

Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre discussed the loss of Bridgewater and acquisition of Sam Bradford on SiriusXM NFL Radio’s “The Blitz” Tuesday morning. Since then, he’s frantically been studying to get up to speed. The Bradford trade gives the Vikings an above average quarterback that could lead the Vikings into the playoffs because of the great team around him, especially if he plays like he did in the second half of the season.

“I don’t know yet, ” Zimmer said. He went through training camp and the preseason as the starter with the Eagles’ plan seemingly intact.

The Philadelphia Eagles traded Bradford on Saturday to the Minnesota Vikings for a first-round draft choice next year and a fourth-round selection in 2018. “We were the one team with two quarterbacks that could be looked at as franchise guys”.

With just two days of practice with the Vikings now under his belt, Bradford answered the question as best as he could.

Back in March, Bradford signed a 2-year extension with the Eagles. The Vikings sent a private jet to Bradford’s home in Oklahoma, and he arrived at team headquarters late in the afternoon to begin cramming in as much knowledge of Turner’s system as he can. “It is very unfortunate to have the [Bridgewater] injury happen”.

With just days before the opening Sunday of the National Football League season, Bradford must adjust quickly.

Is Sam Bradford the right answer to beat Green Bay in the divisional race and win the NFC North again? Shaun Hill, who backed up Bridgewater previous year and has begun his 15th season in the league, is more likely to lead the huddle Sunday at Tennessee. Bradford is an option other than career backup Shaun Hill this year, but he is also under contract for 2017 and is a fall-back option if Bridgewater is not ready to go a year from now.

“Obviously, it was disappointing early last week when Teddy went down, ” said tight end Kyle Rudolph. There’s a ton of talent in there.

However, Esiason’s words echo those of general manager Rick Spielman.

The Minnesota Vikings won’t have their first round draft pick in 2017. “I mean, you prepare like you’re going to be the one to go out there and start on Sunday”. While Bradford may not be a popular name right now, he is just as capable of running the Vikings’ offense as Bridgewater was going to be this season. He said all of the changes he previously has been through should help. “But I can tell you, with what we’ve done in the past few days, I feel pretty good with those”. He’s neither stayed on the field long enough, nor been good enough when he is on the field, to warrant what Minny gave up for him. He has only started 34 games throughout his career but has played in a total of 46.
