With that said, maintaining consistency between the two consoles is ultimately the most important – Sony doesn’t want to risk alienating its current user base by making the standard PlayStation 4 obsolete.

“In 2017 holiday season, we will bring you the Xbox Scorpio a new console in the Xbox family that will be the most powerful device ever created and will deliver true 4K gaming like never before”.
The company is expecting that the new PS4 and PS4 Pro will account for nearly half of their operating profit for the financial year through March 2017.
Fortunately for PS4 fans, price continues to be competitive at $399 for the Pro version of the console as well.
Sony confirmed that the release date for the new Netflix app will be in November, we’re assuming that it will be available day one with the console which means that November 10 is the day to remember. Although the PS4 Pro has the ability to play 4K content, it doesn’t support 4K blu-rays, something that the Xbox One Scorpio can do quite handily.
And, Sony says, as long as the unit is plugged into a high dynamic range television, many games played on the new unit will display more vivid and realistic color saturation.

Sony Interactive Entertainment executive Masayasu Ito stated, in an interview with Game Impress Watch, “It will be different for each title”. While this will be one of the aspects of the PlayStation 4 Pro, it will also be made possible for all PS4 consoles. Microsoft’s senior director of product management and planning at Xbox, Albert Penello, spoke with IGN about how he thinks their upcoming Project Scorpio will compare with Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro. Let us know in the comments. In addition, it’ll be upscaled to 4K from there, with text, menus and other miscellaneous UI bits and bobs rendered at native 4K resolution.
