Son: Woman found dead had called about flat tire

Upon police arrival, they found the woman – who police are not identifying – nearby and she led police officials to the home where she was being held captive.

Three bodies were found in northeast OH on Tuesday – two in Ashland and another in Mansfield.

While processing the scene, two bodies were also found.

Shawn Grate, 40, has a history of violent crimes.They include: burglary, theft, domestic violence, menacing, assault, abduction, drugs, and disorderly conduct.

A third body found in Madison Township is linked to two bodies found in Ashland early Tuesday morning.

Investigators have not officially identified the bodies found in Ashland and said the state Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation is still working the scene.

The woman as she was lying next to a grate. Grate, was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, in Ashland, Ohio in connection to the investigation of a rescued abductee and the discovery of the remains of two people in the home where he was arrested.

The woman found alive had not been identified as of Tuesday night, and neither had any of the bodies.

Couch Page told the Reflector she hasn’t heard the statement about the homicide, but based on the information to police and sheriff’s detectives, she believes the Richland County incident is connected to the Ashland case.

At approximately 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, the Ashland County Prosecutor’s Office issued a press release regarding the status of the case against Grate. Shawn Michael Grate, 30, was also located at the home. The third body was found in a house that had burned down in June. “I prayed to god my niece Stacy, the one who has been missing since Thursday, her auto was found up here on nineth street”.

A woman who identified herself as Jeana Stanley to the News Journal said her sister Stacey Stanley, 43, has been missing since Thursday. “No thanks to police officers”. “She said ‘no, ‘ and he said, ‘well, could I walk you home with your basket'”.

Grate is being held in the Ashland County Jail on kidnapping. “We have children and it could have been any one of our daughters”, she said.

Two bodies found in Ashland home
