Reactions pour in to Phyllis Schlafly’s passing
As CNN reports, the death of Phyllis Schlafly was confirmed on Monday evening by her “advocacy organization”, the Eagle Forum. In 1964, she published A Choice Not an Echo, which sold 3 million copies based on the resonance of her argument that a milquetoast Republican establishment needed to become more populist and more conservative if it wanted to win national elections in the future. She later received her J.D. from Washington University Law School, and received a Master’s degree in Political Science from Harvard University.

Her son John Schlafly said his mother died of cancer Monday afternoon at her home in St. Louis. She is survived by six children, 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, Eagle Forum said.
I join the thousands of lives that Phyllis touched in offering my prayers and condolences to the Schlafly family.”Courtesy of Eagle Forum: “Phyllis Schlafly spent an astounding 70 years in public service of her fellow Americans”.
“Through her tireless activism that continued even into her 90s, Phyllis Schlafly never wavered in giving a voice to millions of Americans concerned about preserving constitutional rights, strong families, and American greatness”.
Her final book, co-authored with Brett M. Decker and Ed Martin, is a policy argument, according to Decker, for why conservatives should support Donald Trump.
Schlafly was a staunch opponent of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) during the “70s”.
The left attacked Schlafly for promoting domestic life to her supporters while spending so much time pursuing her ambitious political agenda. Funeral arrangements are still pending.
“First of all, I want to thank my husband, Fred, for letting me come”, she liked to announce at anti-ERA rallies. She single-handedly made “stay at home mom” an acceptable lifestyle for educated women, after feminists had demonized it in the late 60s and 70s.
But Schlafly called politics her “hobby”.
Former US Vice-Presidential hopeful Sarah Palin, said: “She went down swinging!”
Despite the massive controversy surrounding anti-feminist icon Phyllis Schlafly’s endorsement of Donald Trump, he was among the first to share his condolences with her family and the world after the news of her death broke.

Today, Phyllis Schlafly died like she lived – with dignity and a smile. Her activism helped conservatives reinforce their views for nearly two decades. Reportedly, not long afterward, her own daughter tried to have her removed from her position of power in the Eagle Forum. Schlafly argued that the measure would mean the end of the traditional family.
